Here's a list of requirements for adopting a child, some of which have been covered in the earlier pages.For the child: - Child is unmarried
- Child is under 21 years old
- Child is a resident of Singapore
For the adoptive parent(s): - You must be at least 25 years of age
- You must be at least 21 years older than the child
- You must be a resident of Singapore
- If you are a single man, you cannot adopt a female child
- If adopted by a couple, you must be legally married
- You must obtain consent from all parents of the child, orhave had such consent dispensed with by the court
- You must pass the investigations made by the Ministry of Community Development
- You must not have paid or received any money or reward for the adoption
