The Court System in Singapore

Subordinate Courts
[ Publication date Jan 01, 2001 ]

Subordinate Courts

As can be seen from the diagram, the Subordinate Courts is made up of the District Courts, Magistrates' Courts, Juvenile Courts, Coroners' Courts and Small Claims Tribunals. What you cannot see from the diagram is where the Family Court is ranked with the High Court for hearings to grant divorces but otherwise treated as a District Court in the other areas involved in divorce cases. The reason it is not represented in the diagram is because lawyers cannot draw. This also applies to the Syariah Court.
