Portal For the Legal Sector

The legal sector in Singapore stepped into the digital age recently with the launch of WWLegal.com. The first of its kind here, the Application Service Provider (ASP) offers lawyers a suite of Web-enabled legal tools.

Three lawyers - Ong Ying Ping, Lim Seng Siew and Susan Tay Ting Lan - from Ong, Tay & Partners are the founders of the portal, which has the support of about 100 local law firms. The portal helps in the management of case files and e-commerce transactions.

According to Ong Ying Ping, WWLegal.com would go beyond providing software for law firms by creating a seamless network of services and public information connecting lawyers, clients, and government organizations.

Te public can also access the portal, which features an 'intelligent matching system', to fid the lawyer with the most appropriate skills for their case.

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) commended the initiative and said it was in line with its vision to catalyse the digital transformation of Singapore's economy.
