MAS seeks consultation on Business Trusts and amendments to Securities And Futures Act

On 10 Dec 2003, MAS issued a consultation paper setting out the key proposals for the governance and offers of business trusts.
On 26 Dec 2003, in a second consultation paper, MAS proposes to regulate offers of interests in business trusts by way of disclosure requirements in prospectuses.
This consultation paper contains the draft provisions on offers of interests in business trusts to be set out in a new division under Part XIII of the Securities and Futures Act.
MAS invites interested parties to comment on the draft offer provisions. Please submit your written comments to MAS by 19 Jan 2004, indicating whether confidentiality is requested, addressed to:
